Sutton Kersh generated proceeds in excess of £4.8 million at its latest Merseyside property auction, as over 70% of the 91 lots offered sold.
With strong post sale interest in stock which is still available, the firm anticipates the final figure to reach approximately £5 million.
Cathy Holt, Auction Manageress at Sutton Kersh said: ’We are receiving a significant number of enquiries for stock which failed to reach the reserve on the day, but with most vendors still keen to sell I am confident of further sales.’
The best performing lot at the sale held at the Liverpool City Centre Marriott was a pair of three storey semi-detached houses in Wallasey, which have been converted to provide 16 bedsits. The properties on Victoria Road were finally knocked down for £260,500, £110,500 over the advertised guide price, following a bidding war.
There was also strong competition for a two bedroom flat at Minster Court in L7 which achieved £80,500 off a guide of £50,000 plus. Meanwhile, a one bed flat at Hillside Court in Woolton which was guided at £55,000 plus, sold for £81,250.
The very first lot of the day also proved popular. The substantial three storey semi-detached property on South Drive in L15 which was previously used as a day centre and may suit conversion to a family home, sold for £235,000. The guide price was £200,000 to £220,000.
Commercial investments included the former Rileys Snooker Hall in Birkenhead, which sold for £178,000. The guide was £115,000 plus.
Sutton Kersh is now inviting instructions for its next sale which takes place on 17 July. The catalogue closes on 20 June.
