Local Merseyside auction house is challenging the notion of Brexit spelling bad news for business by posting record figures in 2019

With a national stagnation in 2016 property sales, following the EU referendum, it’s no surprise that auction houses across the country were sceptical about how the deal or no deal decision would affect their business. Moving into most recent developments, a no-deal Brexit has once again created a degree of uncertainty in the industry.

Even with Brexit's decision looming, Sutton Kersh has again challenged the norm by experiencing record sales in their 2019 property auctions. 

Held at the Crowne Plaza, Liverpool on the 28th of March, their second auction of the year has already sold over £6m worth of property, with this figure still rising.

Once again joined by BBC's Homes Under the Hammer, the room was packed with competitive buyers from across the country - creating an exciting atmosphere for first-time buyers and seasoned professionals alike.

Speaking about this month’s auction, Cathy Holt, Associate Director at Sutton Kersh, said: "Today's auction was a massively successful day overall, having already sold 75% of the offered lots - many of which being sold prior!" she continued, "We do say this a lot, but we’re often told that we’re one of Merseyside's most popular auctions due to the atmosphere."
