Sutton Kersh is celebrating ten years since the establishment of its highly successful auction department.

Sutton Kersh Auctions was established back in 2002 by James Kersh. The leading Merseyside auction house has held seventy property auctions in Liverpool over the last decade, sold over three thousand nine hundred properties and generated total proceeds exceeding £300 million.

To mark the anniversary, Sutton Kersh has produced a special edition catalogue for its next auction which will take place on the 25th October at the Liverpool City Centre Marriott Hotel. The catalogue comprises seventy seven lots and can be viewed at www.suttonkersh.co.uk/auctions-property/.

There have been many highlights but for me the lockout auction in February 2004 probably tops the list. The auction took place in the wake of the announcement that Liverpool would be Capital of Culture 2008. Over a thousand people turned out for the event at the Adelphi Hotel at which one hundred properties sold for over £8.4 million.”

Some other highlights from Sutton Kersh's auction history include: a 'blooming successful auction' in October 2003 at which thirty six properties sold in streets named after flowers in L5; Liverpool's best ever property auction result in April 2004 where two hundred and twenty three properties sold for over £11.4 million; Cathy Holt joining the department in 2008 as auction manageress after twenty years at Venmores; and the Go Superlambanana charity auction at which Sutton Kersh helped generate over £550,000 by auctioning off over seventy Superlambananas in aid of the Lord Mayor's Charities.
